Al Clay
From starting out as a tea boy at Trident Studios London to working his way up through engineering, mixing, and production Al Clay has had a long journey deep through the trenches of the music industry. While working at Trident Al worked with many amazing artists and producers which culminated into him being head hunted by Hans Zimmer whom he had formed a great working friendship with from day one. Very soon thereafter Hans realized Al's potential and before long Al became his chief engineer at Lillie Yard Studio which meant that together they would start carving a way into the UK Movie industry.

Whilst at Lillie Yard Al met famed record producer Gil Norton, who instantly recognized Al’s growing expertise. Gil asked Al to work alongside him recording and mixing many internationally recognized and platinum selling acts including The Pixies. This lead onto Al breaking away from Lillie Yard and starting a freelance journey that spanned the globe and encompassed working with ground breaking bands. Inevitably, after having honed his skills over the next 3 years he was offered his first production role – also recording, engineering and mixing the project.

As word quickly spread Al seamlessly made the transition from Engineer to Producer/Mixer and within 2 years had his first UK #1 and US #10 which lead onto many further chart topping successes and multi platinum selling albums - Pixes, Blur, Stereophonics, Del Amitri, etc. The successes continued for Al formulating a career that has spanned Rock thru Pop and of course Film.

Al made the big decision to move to Los Angeles, California in 2003 where he began working almost exclusively once more with long time friend, Grammy, and Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer on movies such as 'The Da Vinci Code', 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' (1,2 &3), 'Batman Begins, as well as countless others before bouncing back to producing and mixing albums for artists such as Pink, This World Fair, and Uh Huh Her.

Due to Al's growing frustration with sending his projects off to the hands of other people to guide, promote, and ultimatley mis-manage, he decided it was time to start his own company called Westside Pacfic Music. Al was tired of completing amazing projects and watching them fall to the wayside because of improper direction. The company now consists of a recording studio, and artist development company with a diverse list of clients spanning the film and record industries.
